Childhood and family

Ksyusha was born on November 5, 1981 in the city on the Neva, Leningrad. In the early 80s, her father, Anatoly Aleksandrovich Sobchak, had not yet thought about a political career. Just before the birth of his daughter, he defended his doctoral dissertation and received a professorship at Leningrad State University.

A year later, he created and headed the first department of economic law in the USSR. Mother, Lyudmila Narusova, worked at the same university as a senior teacher at the Faculty of History.
