Born and raised in Dublin, Murphy took an unlikely route to acting. After a tragic accident when he was 13, in which he lost his right eye after being hit by an arrow, Murphy decided life was too short not to devote himself to what he loved, which just so happened to be acting. With that mindset driving him, Murphy started appearing in stage plays all across Dublin, working extensively at the Druid Theatre Co., where he honed his acting chops before numerous live audiences.

His first brush with screen acting came in 2004 when he was cast as a dying soldier in Oliver Stone's epic historical drama, "Alexander" (2004).

Murphy continued appearing in Irish movies and TV shows over the next few years, including a small role in the indie drama "Pride and Joy" (2006), as well as Tadhg Murphy - actor - biography, photo, best movies and TV shows JIWYZ
